Special agents with Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Border Patrol, found a “sophisticated cross-border tunnel” connecting El Paso, Texas to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico today.
The tunnel is held up by wood beams and is equipped with electricity and a ventilation system. The tunnel appears to have been constructed in the past year. There’s no reports on how long the tunnel is; however, Ciudad Juarez is about 25 miles from El Paso.
“Transnational criminal organizations mistakenly think they can avoid detection by moving people and contraband underground,” HSI El Paso Special Agent Jason T. Stevens said. “This recent discovery is a significant blow to their operations as it highlights our capability to disrupt their sophisticated smuggling networks.”
There’s zero chance this tunnel was not used to sex traffic children — thank God it’s been exposed and investigated.
What has been done in the dark will come to light!
