Use WhatsApp from your desktop WhatsApp-is an extension to the mobile WhatsApp app that allows you to send and receive messages from the comfort of your desktop. Simply install WhatsApp on your computer and scan the QR code from your WhatsApp mobile app and all your chats and contacts will be accessible from your desktop. Furthermore, they will be automatically synched so that all your desktop conversation are also available on your phone. The Windows version supports chats, group chats, file attachments as well as photo and video sharing.

Skype has become too buggy for me to use anymore, so I looked for an alternative. Yes, these guys do want your mobile number which I am not a fan of. The desktop app has very few options. I'd like to be able to change the font size and minimize to tray like every other IM app. Other than lacking those; it's ok. |

Current version is Windows 8 and higher only. Also, according to the privacy policy you must have a cell phone and "You provide your mobile phone number to create a WhatsApp account." |
